Servers
All servers provided by Altrigen have a server operating system, redundant hard drives, and a backup device (Usually a 4mm DAT).
We tend to recommend branded server hardware, from IBM, Hewlett Packard or Fujitsu Siemens.
Entry level Servers support up to 15-20 users depending on the environment, and we recommend Windows 2003 Small Business Server. These have a PC based processor (Intel Pentium P4)
Mid Range Servers provide more power and storage capacity, and can support more users. They have a server class processor (Intel XEON), and can support multiple processors in the same server (often up to 4).
These servers have an array of multiple drives, with data spread across each (RAID-5), and can continue operation if a single drive fails. These servers can support up to 75 users with Windows 2003 Small Business Server, and more with Server 2003 Standard Edition. This class of server tends to be manufactured by IBM (X226 / X236)or Hewlett Packard (ML350 / ML370)
Enterprise Servers
We also provide a range of more specialist enterprise servers, for use in multiple server environments, or as large scale processing or storage servers.
We would be delighted to discuss your requirements for these, as an off the shelf purchase for these devices is not advisable.
